Yes, Roy's gotten in trouble before for putting his foot in his mouth. He knows computers and anything tech, but he doesn't know a whole lot about women.
All I know is that that first statment might have set him up with a big problem. After all the female drive was expecting something about the size of a diamond ring... If she is like all the women I know he better get wise soon.
