Aw, c'mon---bring back the Mau-Mau's! A small quantity of beheadings is loooong overdue for Abuzzi, Mumbassa, Wildcat, etc.; everyone, that is,
but Tarzan (otherwise this erratic strip would be over).
Has anyone noticed the serious lack of "corpus delecti" in the strips since the attack? Methinks that the Bongos and their allies have been fooled by a Potemkin Village erected by Mali-bubu and his Soviet masters. Remember this is a Cold War era strip from around the time of the Congo Crisis and liberation fighters like Patrice Lamumba. It wouldn't be a stretch for this to be an allegory for that.
NEITHER side was good here- and the side that totally wiped out an entire tribe without making the slightest attempt to spare or even consider the possibility of innocents in that tribe(much less have any remorse for their deaths) DEFINITELY embodies the evil that the statue represents. That said, however; if this storyline devolves into stupid mumbo jumbo over a statue, I'm DONE!
