jesus was a long hair hippie, who gave special mushrooms to his followers so they could "see the future." Amazing how things can be so easily reinterpertid.
Jesus did indeed say we should feed the hungry, heal the sick and help the poor. He promised a reward in Heaven for it ("Come blessed of My Father...For I was hungry, and you gave me to eat...").
He did NOT say the government should create laws taxing those who have EARNED money & property to fork it over to said government, so that the government could redistribute it to somebody else. That would be theft. From his dealings with tax collectors, Jesus does not appear to have been a lover of theft by government !$%*!$%*! The giving (feeding, healing, helping) is supposed to come from the heart and changed spirit of the INDIVIDUAL, not the State.
