I remember having to read the story by Robert Browning about the Pied Piper of Hamelin and it is a demented story!!! He gets the rats out of twon with his music. The town folk get mad at him for some reason and then the Pied Piper plays his flute and lures the town children out of the town. He takes them into a cave and they are never found again. Only a lone boy survived because he had a limp and couldn't walk as fast.
Okay, lets all think happy thoughts! Sometimes I want to be like pig and have the ignorance is bliss attitude.
I fear that near this episode's end, Rat will be struck in the kisser with a pie, thus making him a genuine Pied Piper. I mean, after all, this is Pastis at work here...
@DavidKM -- Yeah, maybe cos his clothes are so small or MAYBE cos "Pied Rat" sounds too much like something you'd eat. Eww -- well, I wouldn't, but it's a recipe, anyway....and @Varnes wow, now I know where they live...
That was pretty predictable, however I guess its kind of like a theme in the strips so I guess that explains it.
