You need to have received a few form rejection letters, peppered with the occasional zinger of an personal insult rejection, to fully appreciate the black humor Pastis cites here. It is probably such a large club, that your membership is unlikely to be noted, or acknowledged. But, we know who we are. No one person, or "Rat", should have that much power over another person's work potential.
