I guess this will be our last time to celebrate "Freedom" as we know it. It is so sad to see the socialist path we are being forced down by the leftists.

Rosieca2: That's an interesting way of looking at it, one that I didn't at first see. And anyway, I thought that what happened in 1776 *was* a polititcal statement, so making political statements on its anniversary is entirely appropriate. (I'll keep my opinion of George W Bush to myself, if you don't mind.)
The brainless leftists don't know deprivation of freedom when they see it - but they will. The moderates already understand, with the coming of cap and trade and VA medicine for everyone.
Couldn't resist checking the comments to see if this one ruffled a few feathers. Since people are more likely to write to complain than to praise, I'll assume that for each of the eight negative comments (one is a duplicate) there are many more people who enjoyed today's strip and it's inherent truth. To the editors and the writers: keep up the good work!
I have enjoyed the innocence of this comic in the past but now I must also stand up with this comment; not since my days of protesting in the 60's have I been more alarmed and concerned with the direction this current administration is leading America. everyone is entitled to their opinion and this is mine.
Also just unsubscribed from this comic. If the authors of this strip think our country is in better shape under this atrocity of a president, then they're delusional! This once-great country is being destroyed from the inside and these people think this is a good thing?
I was not particularly amused by the strip today. It's an important national holiday and I think it's unfortunate to portray a former president as an "elitist dictator."
