Baby Huey: As I said before, it was the Republican Congress that balanced the budget. Bill Clinton just took credit for it. The dot com revolution had a lot to do with the robust economy and for that Al Gore deserves credit because he invented the internet. Hillary actually wanted to tax the internet. Bill Clinton was very lucky in the fact that during his presidency, no major natural or political catastrophes occured, though he chose to ignore the growth of terrorist groups. And, once again, Clinton's crime wasn't adultry, it was perjury and obstructing justice. Rape, which he has commited but never charged with, is a crime.
I do not want to devote too much time to this, but just to correct some misconceptions & inaccuracies:

Claude: President Clinton was grilled about Monica Lewinsky when he was giving grand jury testimony in relation to Paula Jones’s sexual harassment charges. At that time, the law stated that a party in a sexual harassment case could be asked about other sexual behaviors. Thus, Kenneth Starr, whom Linda Tripp had told about Lewinsky, asked Clinton about her, and Clinton prevaricated. Clinton could not say “none of your business”. Neither did he perjure himself. It was from those answers, however, that the House of Representatives voted to impeach him, but the Senate found him not guilty.

Otto, as usual, I agree with you. Whom anyone sleeps with is between the parties involved, but too many Americans—like some of the opiners here—are sexually immature, prurient, &, worst, judgmental, and think that we must pry into everyone’s sex lives and that such prying somehow reflects on their abilities in other spheres. It is childish. Virtually all of civilization’s advances have come from people with active—unpuritanical—sex lives.

Bill Clinton was, in many ways, a disappointing president, and a man who showed poor judgment in his selection of sexual partners, but he is easily the best president of the last 25 years (current president excluded, of course): He balanced budgets. He raised taxes on the wealthy; he increased—albeit slightly—social services, and he presided over the best economy since the 1960s.
Clinton didn't balance the budget. The Republican Congress did. It was Newt Gingrich's "Contract with America" that got rid of a lot of wasteful spending that democrats wanted to keep.
Well, as typically along with the Rest of The World, I thought that what your Head of State did with a consenting adult in his spare time was of no interest. About as significant as wondering what cats did with watermelons. I mean, there was a guy with a Licence To Kill (literally not metaphorically) and the courts and media were wasting everyone's time with something really inconsequential. Destroying a bright trusting young woman's career in the process and making the whole world laugh at cultural prurience and then get painfully bored. I was living in a Moslem country at the time and no one could figure out the fuss. Ok, so from the posts here I can understand a bit more about the technicalities, but was it really of any historical importance apart from media reporting on itself?

Varnes, I realize TJ just went for an onion or 2, but after realizing that they had a guest for dinner, maybe he decided to step it up a notch. As I mentioned earlier, we need some background on TJ which should include his financial support (He is currently just a little less creepy than Elwood, until we know otherwise). The other reasons for spending more time out of the house were to give the lovebirds a break and to chat with the DeGroot ladies. And MJB- I just want to FORGET both the Clintons, although they aren't as bad as Carter, and I'm not a fan of GWB either even though I voted for him just to spurn McCain. But please--- lets forget politics here (I was just clarifying my POV).
