I like Luann but not to the exclusion of Brad and Toni. An acceptable mix would be 70 percent Luann and Friends and 30 percent Brad and Toni. A great mix would be 35 percent Brad and Toni, 55 percent luann with friends or parents and 10 percent luann interacting exclusively with Toni and Brad. I like the Teen volunteering pitch but I did not like the initial politicizing of it -- that soured it for me! I don't read the comics to get political indoctrination (that's why I stopped reading about those cute little swamp criters). If I want political indoctrination, I watch CBS, ABC, or CNN. If I want to know what's really going on in the world around me I watch FOX. I watch Luann for laughter, smiles, good moral values; all presented in a clever, realistic and (hopefully in the future) non-political way.

And yes, I agree with KV that Mrs. Horner is a valuable character for this strip and that It's great she's back in Luann. She is one of the best characters they have and kind of balances out the strip so that they have some characters with different personalities.

A lot of these comments upset me... I think Luann is a great comic, even if they use certain political comments in the strips sometimes. If Luann bothers you, just read something else.

Glad to see Mrs. Horner back. She adds a grace and old world elegance seldom found, in addition to real life wisdom..thank you, Greg. Glad to see her return.

I hope Mrs. Horner tried walking herself home and got ran over by a parade of military tracked vehicles. She's the one character this Evans guy can THROW OUT.

Morals of this week: 1) Comic strips are not for kids. They are for people over 35 who want to escape from the fact that everything that's gone wrong with their lives rests with them. Any attempt to remind them of this will turn ugly, kind of like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mf9fVGi6pFQ#t=2m36s. 2) Nothing shall get in the way of "Luann" fans and their need for teenage girls making inferences about sex. 3) Even if they get their wish, they will still think that they can do this and every other comic strip better than the creator. Any attempts to do so will fall flat and will infringe on the artist's copyright.

I hope this volunteering stuff ends pretty soon. I volunteered to help at the soup kitchen, but they threw me out. I ate all the soup. Frank --30--

so...like I have said before...to reiterate if you please: When the comedy goes out of politics, I'll gladly keep politics out of the comics! (PS: THERE IS NO FREAKING POLITICS ON THE BOARD TODAY except THE B!TCHING ABOUT POLITICS BEING ON THE THE BOARD TODAY!) OH! my aching head...I need a little medicinal toke or two or three...see ya later.... %o)
