I'm trying to read the message in Bernice's two wild hairs. If I take off my glasses, I think it is "200" or "220". Is that the running count on Tiffany vanity gags? Or are these her antennae sensing she and her friends are about to be exploited at the pool for comic ratings?
Karnak just called: Tiff will get to do what Phelps would not allow. Male "thumbs up" entries next week will blow the system up and then *this* board will get the axe. He said "thumbs" up -- unless they change the little "flag this comment" icon to something more apt.
MrCentury, I think you're absolutely right, Quill looks just like Scott Peterson in panel two! I bet that's just how it'll play out, too. Then, after Tiffany and Luann become BFFs and her hair is no longer derfy, they can start an airline service flying Nazis to the moon!
CF - Wow, you have an odd definition of rude. What's rude is being pushy and possessive of a boy you just met in front of others to prove he belongs to you. Yelling "Back off, beeotch!" is rude. Quill's trying to being polite and non-committal by including the girls. Tiffany's so deluded that everyone wants her at first sight she doesn't get the message to cool her jets. "Jealous harpies?" Give me a break. They didn't invite themselves or go up to talk to Quill and Tiffany. The only jealous one with her claws out is clinging to Quill like a leech.
Quill is a cold-hearted, calculating person who enjoys playing mind games and does things for a reason. He is probably feigning interest in Luann and her friends to put pressure on Tiffany. Later, it will be much easier for him to get Tiffany to do whatever he wants her to, simply because she will be afraid of losing him. Eventually, he will break poor Tiffany's heart and, if she does not obey him, probably her nose too. If you don't believe this can happen, just look at Quill facial expression in the second panel. As I wrote above - cold-hearted and calculating, just like a snake. When all this is over and Quill is either in Australia or in juvenile hall, maybe Luann will help Tiffany to get over him and they'll become best friends. Tiffany could help Luann with her hair problem.
Come on, Quill, if you don't want to go out with Tiffany, just say so. Stand up for yourself. If you don't learn to do it now, you will find yourself one day to be a henpecked husband and you will deserve it.
I'd really hate to see Luann and her sidekicks impose on Tiffany. That would be rude. Tiffany has had to put up with a lot from these jealous harpies. And Quill is kind of a jerk for inviting them without respecting Tiffany's feelings.
