Ottodesu: in 1970, I quit my job in the high-paying war-related electronics industry, and became a maker of wooden toys. In 1972, my booth at the Renaisance Pleasure Faire in California needed a name, they said. So up went the first sign: Ye Merrie Toymaker. The name stuck, but it was a misnomer. It should have been "Ye Grumpie Toymaker". I retired a couple of months ago. There's a 4-letter word for an old man who works with sharp powerful tools: f o o l.
