Apparently my quote was delivered by telephone tag. I just watched the two scenes from MP&tHG and the only line (said twice in a row) is "Fetchez la vache!" Never trust 30 year-old memory. My apologies to all.

This is my fav by far. Funny on many levels and as the comments show only a non-Canadian could have written it. Bravo! Bravo!

I believe that "launchez le chat" is supposed to be reminiscent of the Monty Python line "Launchez la vache!" from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail". I'm thinking that, in Satchel's cartoon mind, the phrase is so famous it has become sort of a single verb.

Boss! The message, the message! Language is the vehicle.

If one must know, Chrétien is a bad word as Sacré bleu is in Quebec. and if you want to say or write correctly what Sachel says, "Chrétien, no! Don't throw the cat!", it's "Chrétien, non! Ne lancez pas le chat!" Anyhow, Darby may have to be careful if this comic is in another country whose official languages are both French and English, like Seychelles, and yes, Canada. :)

At last there's another dog willing to do what Satchel should be doing on a daily basis. I wonder if Mac and Salad can communicate? Very funny.

The Crouton Salad gets to be the one who finally dishes Bucky his just dessert!

This strip made me laugh out loud and VERY few newspaper strips can do that anymore. Great stuff!

And y'all might want to remember that this is a **comic strip**. Any resemblance to reality is purely coincidental...and fruit of your own imagination.

Just remembered, Satchel's parents live in Cheticamp (sp?), and Satchel's French has always been iffy. He was raised in Boston before they came to live where they do now, so his grammar is often lacking. Bucky's is even worse. He was born in Hackensack, New Jersey.
