Most "government workers" are not politicians but work in service jobs. They don't make large salaries and their raises, if they get them, don't come close to keeping up with cost of living increases.
yea, well I'm a government worker that gets three unpaid days a month and is now looking at a 5% pay cut and the possiblility of more layoffs.
